33 BREE, in collaboration with The Artists Gallery, is pleased to announce an Open Call for “Connect through Colour”, a curated group exhibition that will take place from 2 October to 31 October 2025 at 33 BREE — a vibrant cultural space in the heart of Cape Town.

This exhibition invites artists to explore the emotional, symbolic, and connective power of colour in contemporary life. Colour is more than pigment – it is a universal language that transcends borders, evokes memory, expresses identity, and bridges differences.

We are seeking paintings that use colour boldly, intuitively, or conceptually — works that speak to the human experience, reflect personal or collective stories, or simply celebrate colour as a powerful visual language.

Artists are encouraged to challenge traditional uses of colour and explore how it can create connection — with others, with places, and with the self.

We invite artists to interpret and express these ideas through their work — and in October 2025, we will invite the public to experience and enjoy what participating artists have created. Together, we aim to present an inspiring and dynamic visual conversation that highlights the power of colour to connect us all.

This call is open to emerging and established artists who:
• Have a strong, original artistic voice
• Work with colour in meaningful or experimental ways
• Wish to be part of a collaborative, established art platform
• Are interested in connecting with audiences and collectors
