The Bank of Namibia has issued a call for proposals from Namibian artists for its “Shredded Banknote Art Challenge.” This competition invites artists to create original works using shredded banknotes as the primary medium as part of the Bank’s 35th Anniversary celebrations.
In line with the anniversary theme, “Anchored in Stability, Advancing with Transformation,” the Bank is seeking bold and thought-provoking artworks. The submitted concepts should celebrate Namibia’s financial journey and visually represent themes of transformation, resilience, and innovation through the use of repurposed currency.
Shortlisted artists will be contacted to present their concepts, and the final artworks will be showcased as part of the Bank’s 35th Anniversary events.

- A visual design concept (e.g., sketch, digital render, or mock-up).
- A short artist profile (maximum 150 words).
Prizes:
- 1st Prize: N$15,000
- 2nd Prize: N$10,000
- 3rd Prize: N$5,000
