Ceramics Western Cape | Call for submissions 9 until 13 March 2026

Ceramics has always lived at the intersection of art and utility. A well-made bowl carries culture, design, skill and personal voice,  all in a form we hold to our lips each day. Functional Forms honours this heritage while encouraging makers to push boundaries, refine craftsmanship and celebrate the beauty of the useful. We hope this exhibition inspires you to return to the studio with new intentio; to test; refine; evaluate, and perhaps even reimagine what a pot can be.

Ceramics Western Cape

Ceramics Western Cape is the premier association representing the clay community of the Western Cape. We have our roots in various potters formations starting more than 5 decades ago and whilst grounded in our core vision and mission, we have been open to morph and change, much like our medium of clay, to meet the evolving needs of our members and the arts and crafts and social landscape that we are grounded in.

Our flagship events are our Rondebosch Potters Markets, Imhoff Potters Markets (both take place twice a year) and our Annual Members Juried Exhibition. Alongside these we are inaugurating two new exhibitions from 2026: Functional Forms and Ceramic Spotlight
