Wine & Art in Collaboration with Processus offers an after-hours programme at Norval Foundation centred on Tears Now But Heaven Tomorrow, the museum’s exhibition celebrating the life and work of Githan Coopoo (1994–2025).
The evening begins with a curator-led tour of the exhibition, providing additional insight into Coopoo’s distinctive ceramic practice. A self-taught sculptor, Coopoo used clay to create works that move between jewellery, sculpture and installation, drawing on mythology, personal history and queer identity while challenging conventional distinctions between craft and fine art.
Following the tour, guests are invited to a wine tasting hosted by Processus founders Megan van der Merwe and Beata America. A selection of wines is paired with curated canapés, extending the exhibition experience through an informal setting for discussion and reflection.
Bringing together contemporary art, wine and conversation, the event offers a thoughtful way to engage with one of the year’s significant exhibitions and the enduring legacy of an artist whose work continues to resonate across South African contemporary art.
