Ansie Ibbotson Exhibition at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery

Rust-en-Vrede Gallery

Solo exhibition by Durbanville-based artist Ansie Ibbotson recon(struct)s herself within a system wherein qualities of receptivity, intutition, rest and inner knowing are often undervalued, and action is often prioritized over presence.

Humanity exists through the interplay of two essential forces: the giving (masculine) and receiving (feminine).  In a world shaped largely by doing, producing and constant forward motion, the feminine principle often struggles to fully construct itself.
