A group art exhibition Pretoria features over 30 ceramic artists from Gauteng, exploring clay through form, texture, and process.
Shades of Clay brings together more than 30 ceramic artists from Gauteng in a group exhibition at the Association of Arts Pretoria.
The exhibition looks at clay as both a material and a way of expression. The works on show range from functional objects to sculptural pieces, highlighting different approaches to form, surface, and texture.
Rather than following a single theme, the exhibition reflects the variety of practices within contemporary ceramics. Each artist brings a distinct perspective, while sharing a common engagement with the medium.
The exhibition will be opened by Rika Nortjé, cataloguer and ceramics specialist at Strauss & Co, on Saturday 18 April at 11:00. Visitors are invited to attend the opening and enjoy a glass of wine.
Curated by Hendrien Horn, Shades of Clay offers a clear and engaging overview of current ceramic practice, highlighting the continued relevance of the medium today.
