THK Gallery returns to Copenhagen for its fifth consecutive presentation at Enter Art Fair, with works by Oda Tungodden, Wolfgang Flad, Karla Nixon, Thomas Wachholz and Philip Emde.

For her first presentation with THK at Enter, Norwegian artist Oda Tungodden shows paintings made through layers of oil, acrylic and cold wax. Working between Bergen and Cape Town, Tungodden uses painting to look at the relationship between memory and identity. Figures emerge from worn, layered surfaces without settling into a fixed story, moving between what is remembered, imagined and partly lost.

Berlin-based artist Wolfgang Flad also makes his Enter debut with the gallery. Works from his Dark Side of the Moon series move between painting, relief and sculpture, combining industrial materials, pigment, polished surfaces and hand-worked textures. Their built-up surfaces suggest geological processes such as formation and erosion, while reflective elements change as viewers move around them and the light shifts.

Flad will also present sculpture at the fair, including a monumental work in Enter’s Sculpture Garden. His work will be shown alongside pieces by Karla Nixon, Thomas Wachholz and Philip Emde.

Founded in 2019, Enter Art Fair is Scandinavia’s largest international art fair, with around 80 galleries presenting contemporary art from across the world. Alongside its gallery booths, the four-day programme includes a Sculpture Garden, talks, curated projects and events. The fair takes place at Lokomotivværkstedet, a former industrial railway workshop in Copenhagen.

For visitors following THK Gallery’s artists beyond South Africa, the presentation offers a useful look at how the gallery is extending those conversations internationally. Tungodden and Flad are the two new additions at Enter this year, while Nixon, Wachholz and Emde connect the Copenhagen presentation to artists already established within THK’s wider programme.
