Landscapes, rivers, mountains and trees provide the starting point for an exhibition by Lily Maas, Ros Koch and Stephen J Quirke, exploring the close relationship between people and the natural world.
Rather than treating nature as something separate from us, the three artists consider how our lives are shaped by the environments we inhabit. Their work draws attention to the landscapes around us, from the movement of water and the changing seasons to the trees and mountains that form part of our everyday surroundings.
At the heart of the exhibition is a simple idea: we are part of nature, not apart from it. Through their different perspectives, the artists encourage a closer appreciation of the natural world and the importance of caring for the places that sustain us.
Visitors will also have opportunities to meet the exhibiting artists throughout the exhibition, with a programme of walkabouts, a watercolour painting demonstration and a talk on clean energy and the future of wild places.
