Creative Sanctuary is a six-week process-based art workshop in Harfield Village, Cape Town. Explore intuitive art-making in a relaxed, supportive environment with all materials included.
This is not a ‘how-to’ art course. These creativity sessions are process-based, meaning the final artwork is less important than what you experience and discover along the way about your creativity and, perhaps, even yourself.
Each week explores a different theme that invites you to turn your focus inward and work intuitively. Over the six weeks, you’ll experiment with a range of media, including drawing materials, inks and paint, allowing you to explore different ways of making and responding creatively.
Every session begins with a short creative warm-up and a grounding practice to help reconnect you with your hands, your body and the present moment. We often look at the work of other artists for inspiration before settling into the main creative process, working to soft music in a calm environment with minimal conversation.
Halfway through each session there is a relaxed snack break, giving everyone an opportunity to get to know one another. We finish with a short written reflection and optional sharing for those who would like to reflect on their experience.
Creative Sanctuary is a completely non-judgemental space where you can slow down, relax and enjoy creating. The invitation is simply to arrive with an open mind, step away from the noise of everyday life, and leave feeling inspired, refreshed and more deeply connected to yourself and your creativity. In today’s fast-paced world, this is something many people find both valuable and deeply restorative.
Payment can be made in full one week before the course begins or in two instalments, with the first payment due one week before the course starts and the balance payable halfway through the programme.
