To mark its 40th anniversary, Rust-en-Vrede Gallery presents FORTY, a celebratory group exhibition curated by Donavan Mynhardt. Bringing together artists who have exhibited at the gallery, served as adjudicators or contributed to its programming over the past four decades, the exhibition reflects the gallery’s longstanding role in supporting and showcasing South African art.
The exhibition features an accomplished selection of painters, sculptors and multidisciplinary artists whose work spans a wide range of styles and practices. Together, they represent the breadth of creative talent that has shaped Rust-en-Vrede’s reputation as one of the Western Cape’s leading municipal galleries.
Rather than simply looking back, FORTY celebrates the enduring relationships between the gallery and the artists who have contributed to its success.
